FULL TEXT BELOW:
Yesterday, bills to renew the semi-automatic "assault weapons" ban were introduced in both the House and Senate, each with a handful of co-sponsors. The Senate version is slightly more restrictive than the current ban, while the House version is significantly broader.
According to a Washington Times story today, House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-TX) is very confident that neither version will not pass in the House of Representatives.
"The House in the past has taken a dim view of the assault-weapons ban. I would say that the majority leader is pretty skeptical of reauthorizing it, as is the House as a whole," DeLay spokesman Stuart Roy said.
"It has zero chance," he added, also mentioning that any attempt by the Senate to tack a renewal onto a bill supported by the House is also likely to fail. "It's technically possible to do that, but just about on the verge of being impossible." |

| Don't be lulled into a false sense of security, this DEFINITELY has a chance of passing. This is a typical tactic used to divert our focus and attention away from those traitors who are going to vote for the passage. Don't let them get away with it. |

Beware all the elitists in the Senate!!
Gunnies need to assault the Senate with electorate pressure as well as the House.
I will guarantee you that slimy Feinstein and crew will try to attach the bill to a required appropriations bill or some such crap at the last moment.
BEWARE, such scum will try ever trick possible. Like cancer they can never be cured, only controlled!!
Be Active, Be Involved. Let's get the FED out of legislating politically correct guns. NOW!! |

| Bob Baar is absolutely correct. With the President strongly backing renewal, passage it much more likely. Like I said before, watch the Washington politics on this one. It will be a classic. |

| I sit here and think of America, and for the most part I'm disgusted with what I see in terms of the things being done to destroy her from within. But then I see a small backbone finally developing in the gun community and I feel a bit better knowing this could possible be the issue where gun owners and freedom loving Americans will finally say enough is enough. Something inside me feels as though this issue if renewed will ignite a fire that America has not seen in a very long time. |

| If busch passes the ban he wont be president again thats all their is to it. Some how I dont think he would let that happen over such a small issue. Who knows, with all the other unconstitutional stuff he's been passing, he might loose any way. On a diffrent note I wouldnt mind hearing more about Ron Paul on this sight, many other commet posters seem to be pretty "hyped up" about him. |
